Yoooo thanks for checking out my letter! I hope you’ll find it useful. I’ve gone ahead and put some prompts/thoughts in for all the fandoms I requested, but they’re just ideas, so feel free to just ignore that and do whatever you feel like :D
As long as you have fun creating I’m fairly sure I’ll have fun reading it.
I’m cadmean on AO3/tumblr/etc.
DNWs: mundane AUs, unrequested crossovers, pregnancy/mpreg, A/B/O, permanent physical damage, scat/vomit/piss, vore, rimming
Likes: worldbuilding, missing-scene type fic, unreliable narrators, banter, us against the world, found family/family of choice, moral conflicts, loyalty and abuse of said loyalty, pragmatic characters, people kicking ass together, dysfunctional/codependent relationships, unlikely allies, competence, horror, cosmic horror – the more grotesque and inhuman the better, action scenes and battles/fights, things getting destroyed in totally over-the-top ways, trust and trust issues, power dynamics/power imbalances, protectiveness, ambiguous or downright unhappy endings
Art Likes: I LOVE ALL ART and I am bad at prompting for it. But! Some general things I think are super cool – bright and warm colors, black/white/greys with accent colors, super dramatic lighting, characters wearing each others’ clothes, monster transformations/characters as monsters, blood splashes, pointy fangy teeth, messy linework
NSFW Likes: body horror, bruises, fight sex, xeno, size differences, aggressive/rough sex, abuse of authority, terrible people having a great time, breathplay/choking, manhandling, stomach and/or throat bulges, consent issues/dubcon/noncon, blood, gore(I haven’t prompted for it specifically because I can’t prompt for smut to save my life, but wherever I’ve nominated a / ship I would also be very happy with something porny rather than plotty.)
Alan Wake
Odin Anderson/Thomas Zane/Tor Anderson
Opt-ins: 'A Softer World' style art, Any In-Universe Documents, Bestiary, Character Analysis, Character Study, Creator's Choice of 3+ In-Universe Mediums Per Work That Fit The Canon Setting, Fanart, Fanmixes, Interactive Fiction, Meta, Worldbuilding Headcanon, Minimalist Poster, Tabletop Campaign, Pin-up Poster of Character, Original Fan Music, Original Fan Music or Remix
Nothing gets you to bond like a bunch of moonshine, an isolated farm, and the malevolent dark presence underneath the local lake that wants to eat you all up whole. Time to have a great year! I love these three mainly for the sense of their history we get from the game – Odin and Tor knew Tom, and from the dates in the game we know that they were all hanging around Bright Falls in the same years – both before Barbara drowned, and after. If you’ve read the Alan Wake Files, Tom also helped the Anderson brothers write some of their songs! And that’s so cool. Creative collaborative bros who fuck all trying hard to escape the Dark Presence through song and poems \o/
The Baru Cormorant Series
Xate Yawa & Xate Olake
Opt-ins: 'A Softer World' style art, Adaption Concept Art, Any In-Universe Documents, Bureaucratic Paperwork, Card Game, Character Analysis, Character Study, City Map, Interactive Fiction, Worldbuilding Headcanon, Propaganda Poster, Meta, Minimalist Poster, Official Workplace Documentation, Map of City or Country or World, Maps, Excerpts from a Character's Journal/Notebook/Sketchbook, Fanart, Fanmixes
[I’ve read Tyrant, so spoilers for that below]
OLD PEOPLE KICKING ASS FOR EACH OTHER, what’s not to love. Yawa is incredibly ruthless and pragmatic and playing the long con, and Olake is just as ruthless, but also too idealistic for her plans by far – I love that kind of dynamic, especially for siblings, and honestly I just wish it would’ve worked out better for Olake.
I’d love anything here that examines their relationship over the years: how did it change from two young children living in the streets of Lachta to Durance and her collateral blackmail material? What was it like for them, working on separate sides of the Aurdwynni rebellion while both wanted nothing more than independence for their country? How did their first meeting after the failed battle at Sieroch go? If you’re caught up with Tyrant, I’d also be super interested in these two’s future: does Yawa manage to rehabilitate her brother? What are the two of them up to, now that Yawa has blackmail material on both Farrier and Torrinde, and is on great terms with Baru and presumably also the political forces that are Tau and Kindalana?…I realize this isn’t much help, but basically I’d genuinely love absolutely anything that deals with the fraught, complicated relationship these two have and all the various ways it worked out (or didn’t…) for them over the years.
FFXIV
Solo: Lahabrea
Fandom-specific DNW: 14th/Azem/WoL being involved as anything more than passing reference.
Opt-ins: A Softer World' style art, Any In-Universe Documents, Bestiary, Bureaucratic Paperwork, Character Analysis, Character Study, Creator's Choice of 3+ In-Universe Mediums Per Work That Fit The Canon Setting, Creepypasta, Excerpts from a Character's Journal/Notebook/Sketchbook, Fanart, Fanmixes, Interactive Fiction, List of things (character) is not allowed to do, Localization Notes, Meta, Translation Analysis, Translation Notes, Mission Report
I love Lahabrea so, so much. Ancient monologuing idiot of my heart. No, really, I do genuinely love how he’s liable to go off on an awful villainous monologue if left alone for too long, and I especially love that in light of him having been the Speaker for the Convocation – respected orator indeed! Basically I think it’s super cool how from everything we now know, he was a great phantomologist and Speaker, and then over the millennia after the Sundering he just…degraded, because that’s what being a tempered workaholic and having the pressure of bringing back your god, civilization, and whole star on your shoulders will do to you.
What I’m mainly looking for here is ANYTHING. Yes anything. I am that easy when it comes to Lahabrea. What was he like back in Amaurot, as official, respected(?) Speaker of the Convocation of Fourteen? What was he up to during the Final Days; what was his role in the summoning of Zodiark? What was he like with the other members of the Convocation, and what about his relationship with Emet-Selch and Elidibus, after the Sundering? (I do ship him with both of them, so if you’d like I’m also totally open to receiving any of the nominated relationships involving either of them with Lahabrea.) How did he survive the Sundering, what was it like to realize that your whole civilization and all your people just…split? Or his (mis)adventures on various shards! How much monologuing did he get in across the fourteen worlds? How many things did he get to explode?? Or maybe a bit more recently: how in all the world did he end up working together with Gaius, and what was that like? What happened to him directly after the Praetorium? OH OR his time stuck in Nidhogg’s eye! That could be hilarious.
Basically: have at it. I’ll almost certainly love whatever you come up with.
The Malazan Book of the Fallen
Dancer/Dassem, Surly & Dancer
Opt-ins: 'A Softer World' style art, Adaption Concept Art, Any In-Universe Documents, Character Analysis, Character Study, Creator's Choice of 3+ In-Universe Mediums Per Work That Fit The Canon Setting, Excerpts from a Character's Journal/Notebook/Sketchbook, Fanart, Fanmixes, Interactive Fiction, Maps, Meta, Minimalist Poster, Pin-up Poster of Character, Propaganda Poster, Remix - Art Remix of my Fic, Remix - Fic Remix of my Fic, Tabletop Campaign, Worldbuilding Headcanon
[spoilers for BotF and Path to Ascendancy below]
Dancer/Dassem: They’re both super competent at killing people! They both end up being super reluctant about actually killing people! Like, their character arcs parallel each other SO MUCH and I love everything about them, from when they first met outside of Li Heng to running an empire together to faking their deaths and becoming mopey gods who may or may not be actively avoiding each other out of guilt. PERFECT.
I’d be down for basically anything here – exploring their history with something set during the early days of the empire, when they were both figuring out how things worked and maybe were also trying to navigate their own relationship, or in the last few years after the Chaining that set Dassem against Hood and Dancer+Kellanved on their path, both of them occupied with their own plans. Did they ever go on any missions together? And what happened at the last Chaining, on that note? Something set after the Crippled God was freed and Hood was killed could be super cool as well: does it change anything for them, now that both Cotillion and Dassem have more or less achieved what they first set out to do? Would they try to reconcile, after that night in Darujhistan? Or even before all that – were there any other instances when Cotillion provided some unseen help for Traveler, or maybe the other way around?
Surly & Dancer: Stabby ambitious assassins of my heart. My favorite thing is how they’re actually quite similar – they’re both super capable, they’re both the more no-nonsense type (at least in comparison to Kellanved), they’re both the type to do their best to fix a situation they don’t like, even/especially if it means killing people. Sadly, of course, that last similarity means that Surly came gunning for Kellanved’s throne when she thought he and Dancer weren’t doing right by their empire, and that before long Cotillion tried to send Sorry after her in retaliation, but…well, what can you do ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I’d love anything here that looks a bit at the parallels between them – we’ve seen how they both play off of Kellanved, but what are they like when it’s just the two of them? Did they ever go on any missions together; how did the whole Talon and Claw thing work when they weren’t yet at each other’s throats? And what about after Surly took the Throne: did Cotillion ever decide to go check in on her? (Aside from the Sorry thing, I mean.) Also, smart as Laseen is I can’t help but wonder what must’ve gone through her head when she figured out that Kellanved and Dancer hadn’t died at all – would she have sought him out, at any point?
