Hey there, dear writer!

Thanks for writing for me!  I’ve gone ahead and written down a couple of prompts for each of my requests, but really they’re just suggestions more than anything. If you’ve got something in mind already or would rather pick and choose things here then feel absolutely free to go with that instead! I love being surprised and I’m easy to please.

Alan Wake

            Thomas Zane

The doomed poet! I think he’s super cool, and I really like that when he realized that he’d made a huge mistake by writing Barbara back to life, he not only owned up to it but went all-out to correct that mistake. He’s a tragic character but keeps on fighting against the Dark Presence that has now taken the form of his wife, and that’s got to take a lot of determination.

--Anything to do with Tom’s run-in with the Dark Presence in the 1970s would be awesome. We know how Barbara died and came back from The Poet and the Muse, but what exactly happened there? Was it just Barbara, or did some Taken also show up? What was the town like? Why did he come to the conclusion that the Dark Presence from the depths of the lake had gotten hold of her – Alan had Zane to guide him, but how did Tom figure it all out in the first place? If you want to go back even further, how did Tom meet Barbara, the Anderson brothers, or Emil Hartman? What were his relationships like with the latter two?

--Current-time! What’s it like in the Dark Place, what is he – and Barbara – up to these days? He’s helping Alan from time to time, of course, but that can’t be all he does? (If you want to incorporate stuff from Sam Lake’s This House of Dreams for this, go right ahead :D)

Critical Role

Heads up: some spoilers for the Whitestone and Chroma Conclave arcs.

Raishan

Best dragon lady, hands down. My favorite thing about her is that even though she’s super powerful she was still pragmatic enough to team up with Thordak, and then, when that didn’t work out, she went and allied with Vox Machina. I love smart, competent villains, and Raishan checked so many boxes there. (Also, she’s a giant poison-spewing dragon. That’s super cool in and of itself.)

--For someone so integral to the story we really don’t know all that much about Raishan, so I’d really love some exploration of her past. What was her life like before she was cursed and Thordak showed up; how was her time with the Fire Ashari? What was her relationship with Thordak like before she decided she was going to have to betray him, how did she get along with the other members of the Conclave? Basically, go wild.

--AU where Vox Machina didn’t arrive on the island of Opash in time! What exactly was Raishan looking for there, and what would she have done once she had it? Was she really only looking for a way to cure herself…?

Delilah Briarwood/Sylas Briarwood

Competent villains that are also a battle couple is one of my all-time favorite tropes and oh boy did the Briarwoods deliver on that front. They’re so devoted to each other and kick ass while looking out for each other! It’s great. Literally the only thing I dislike about their story arc is that they didn’t stick around longer, and even then the final battle against them was so cool I don’t really mind.

--AUs! All the AUs. What if they didn’t die in the battle at the Ziggurat – what if they won? What was their grand plan with the little orb of death; where they going to bring Vecna back? Would they have taken over the country? The continent? (What would they have done during the attack of the Chroma Conclave? Would they have continued to sequester themselves away in Whitestone; would they have tried to ally themselves with the dragons? How would a meeting with Raishan have gone ;D?)

--Their time in Wildmount would be super cool as well. How did Sylas become a vampire, why did the two of them flee that continent? Their time spent setting up (vampire)shop in Whitestone and consolidating their power there would be interesting too, what with having to deal not only with the townsfolk but keeping Cassandra and Ripley in line as well.

The Malazan Book of the Fallen

Heads up: there’s some vague spoilers here for both Erikson’s books as well as ICE’s.

Surly

Surly is one of those characters I didn’t care about all that much initially, but then I reread the series (and ICE’s books) and now she’s one of my favorite characters. I love her pragmatism (“eey Kalam, I know you don’t like me but murder Mallick Rel for me?”), her general competence as an assassin, and mainly of course the fact that when Dancer and Kellanved were off doing their thing in the Azath, she decided that the throne would look a whole lot better with her in it – and then actually went through with it! You go, Laseen \o/

--I would really love something that goes into the early years of her life, before she and Nok and the other Napans showed up on Malaz Island. Surly’s royalty – so what happened to drive her out of her homeland? I’m always game for court intrigue and political drama! Plus, the Napan Isles haven’t really been explored all that much in canon, so if you wanted to do some worldbuilding here you’ve got soooo much room ;D

--Or something set during the years Dancer and Kellanved were off exploring the Azath! Did Surly always have ambitions for the throne; how did she go about consolidating her power to the point where she felt confident enough to take the throne for herself? Her interacting with Topper and her Claw and the Talon would be really cool as well.

Dancer & Kellanved

I have a soft spot the size of a continent for these two. The way they play off of each other – both in combat and just normally – is super fun, and though I don’t think they’re actual proper friends, the amount of trust they have in each other after all the things they’ve done must be incredible.

--Adventures! What was it like first running into the T’lan Imass, how did they end up finding the First Throne? Or their run-in with the three Shal-Morzinn thousand-years-old sorcerors – what exactly happened there to make Kellanved and Dancer turn tail and run? And what was it like, running their bar on Malaz Island?

--Adventures, but as gods! They rule Shadow but it’s a tenuous grip they have on the warren – what if a group of Liosan/demons/insert-enemy-here decided to invade? What if Shadowthrone and Cotillion decide to take an excursion into some other warren – how do they do it, who do they come across, what happens? What’s it like, living in the Shadow warren?

Original Works

King/Male General

As you might have already gathered I love worldbuilding, so I’d prefer it if the setting and characters here aren’t based on existing ones all that much – but aside from that I’m open to absolutely anything. Space opera? Galactic kingdom, here I come! Medieval? Awesome. Fantasy? Wohoo!

Since I’m not quite sure how to prompt here, some possible ideas/fun things:

--What’s the kingdom like? Peaceful, at war – and if the latter, who are they fighting? What’s their world like? Are there many kingdoms, or are they slowly giving way to other forms of government?

--How did the king come to be king? Was it hereditary, or . . . ?

--Loyal general fucks up. King is not happy. General is not happy that king is not happy. Angst ensues.

--There’s a failed assassination attempt on the king, and the general is responsible. Lots of lying and false professions of loyalty as the general tries to keep the king from finding out (and maybe trying to have another go at his life?) Or the other way around, with the king trying to kill his general.

--The kingdom goes to war! Who are they fighting, how is the war going? What are the king and general doing, how are they dealing with the fact that the king will likely be killed if the general is defeated by their enemies?

Thanks for reading! I hope you have fun writing :D
