Hey there, dear writer! :D

First off, thank you so much for writing me – if you’re offering these fandoms, you’re already awesome in my book!

In case you want to find me elsewhere: I’m cadmean on AO3 and teumesia again on tumblr.

Some general things:

Likes: I love worldbuilding and missing-scene type fic; found family, loyalty, the “us against the world” trope; people kicking ass together, people in general being competent at what they do.

DNWs: any sort of mundane AU (i.e. highschool, coffee shop, etc), crossovers, pregnancy/kidfic, A/B/O, tentacles, rape/non-con, and overly graphic descriptions of bodily fluids.

I’ve also gone ahead and included some possible prompts for all the relationships in case you want inspiration, but they’re just ideas so feel free to write whatever you want :D Some of these ended up longer than others, but that has nothing to do with preference and more with how well (or not) I managed to narrow down my thoughts – I’ll be super happy with whatever you end up writing! :D

The Demonata – Darren Shan
(Bec & Lord Loss, Dervish Grady & Lord Loss)

Bec & Lord Loss

While Grubbs and Lord Loss outright hate each other’s guts, and Kernel and Lord Loss aren’t really all that keen on each other, either, Bec on the other hand has an almost equal relationship with Lord Loss the further the books go on. I’m a huge fan of that sort of enemy-mine relationship they seem to have, especially considering how they started out!

Ideas:

-- Anything set during their team-up in Hell’s Heroes. What exactly happened there, and what do they think about working side by side for a change? I can’t imagine Bec being too thrilled, yet at the same time she obviously saw the necessity of it – same with Lord Loss.

-- Something set after Hell’s Heroes! Because honestly, Bec and Lord Loss now literally have billions of years to work out their differences and I’d love to see something with them coming to terms with the fact that, hey, there aren’t a whole lot of other people around, might as well get comfortable with those beings that are there.

Dervish Grady & Lord Loss

I always thought it was a real pity that even though Dervish features a lot in the books, he never really interacts all that much with Lord Loss – so much lost potential there, especially since Dervish probably doesn’t have the same intense hatred for Lord Loss as Grubbs does, at least in the beginning of the series.

Ideas:

-- So Dervish spends almost a year in our time battling Lord Loss in his realm – and against all odds, he wins! I’d be super interested to know just what happened there: what was their battle like, how did Dervish win, and what was Lord Loss’ reaction to his defeat?

-- Lord Loss recognizes Dervish as a Grady when they meet in Demon Thief – and since Dervish then escapes, I’d wager that Lord Loss was interested enough to check in on him every now and then. (It’s Lord Loss. He’d totally do it just to mess with Dervish.) At the very least, I doubt that their battle during Lord Loss was the next time they meet – so what happens in the time inbetween?

 

The Malazan Book of the Fallen – Steven Erikson
(Apsalar & Cotillion, Cotillion & Shadowthrone, Tavore Paran & Lostara Yil)

Apsalar & Cotillion

Their relationship as it develops over the course of the book is one of my favorites, what with Cotillion sort of viewing Apsalar like a daughter (and realizing that, oops, he probably shouldn’t have possessed her in the first place), while Apsalar has to reconcile her new memories and skills with her original self.

Ideas:

--Anything at all to do with how Apsalar having Dancer’s memories works out for the two of them. Obviously she knows a whole lot about Cotillion, and he comes to care about her enough to not mind, so there’s this weird dynamic where they both understand each other really well but are also super hesitant to talk about emotions or anything except shanking people.

--Something post-TCG, where Cotillion visits Apsalar (and Crokus, if you want to throw him in) in Itko Kan. How’s Apsalar doing now that she’s presumably settled a bit into domestic life, and what does Cotillion think?

Cotillion & Shadowthrone

I fell in love with the Malazan books when those two showed up in Itko Kan to send the Hounds after Laseen’s soldiers, haha.  I think my favorite thing about them is that even though they’ve been working together for ages, and have a companionship that rivals that of Rake and Brood – even so they’re not really friends, but they do trust each other(‘s judgement) a whole lot.

Ideas:

-- Azath explorations! What happened in there? What strange realms did they end up in, who did they meet? Do they run into Gothos again, or perhaps Edgewalker? Or anything else set during the years when they were still human – what was it like meeting the Napans, or the Crust brothers? How did they go about establishing their empire; what was Kellanved like on the throne with Dancer as his right hand?

-- So we know that Dancer, at least, was at one of the Chainings for the Crippled God. Why didn't Kellanved go -- or did he go, but without anyone noticing? What exactly happened there that that made them decide to free the Crippled God, and just how do you tell your partner that, hey, let's screw over most of the pantheon?

Tavore Paran & Lostara Yil

After Keneb’s death Lostara is one of the few people Tavore seems to trust anymore, and Lostara becomes Tavore’s aide when T’amber dies-- there’s so much mutual trust and respect there, even though they never really seem to talk about it all that much.

Ideas:

--We never really get Tavore’s POV on anything, so…that, basically. Lostara grows closer and fonder of her over the course of the books, but what’s Tavore’s view on her aide? What was going through her head during, say, the day of the battle against the Forkrul Assail, when she shows Lostara her talon necklace? Or after T’amber’s death, when Lostara steps up as her new confidante?

--Something post-TCG would also be super cool here. What happens to the two of them after the big battle in Kolanse? Tavore is reunited with her brother and Lostara has Henar, and the Bonehunters’ purpose is fulfilled, so do Lostara and Tavore stick together afterward? Or do they part?

Transistor
(Royce Bracket & Grant Kendrell, Royce Bracket & Sybil Reisz)

Royce Bracket & Grant Kendrell

The founders of the Camerata, who were work buddies and friends even before that. So much history between these two, and sadly so little of it is in the game! Aside from the fact that they both decided to work together for the betterment of Cloudbank, they don’t really have all that much in common, and yet still they’re friends.

Ideas:

  -- Since they knew each other well before the game and even the whole Camerata business, I’d be super interested in what their relationship was like back then. How did they first meet, and what were their first impressions of each other? Did those impressions change over time?

-- The two of them deciding to form the Camerata! How did that come about, who suggested it, what was the other’s reaction? And then expanding the group to include Asher and Sybil – how did that change their relationship, if at all?

Royce Bracket & Sybil Reisz

Sybil is super outgoing, and Royce just really…isn’t. Nevertheless they were both part of the Camerata, and I’d love to know how these two got along! I mean, there had to have been at least some trust in there in order to work together, even though they’re so different personality-wise.

Ideas:

-- Their first meeting! What with their opposing natures that must’ve been something to see – what was Sybil’s opinion of Royce, and vice versa? How did they get along? What were their interactions like, if they interacted at all?

-- “This is for Sybil” – Royce’s reaction to Sybil’s death. How does he find out, what does he think? And what happens when they meet again in the Country, how do they react? Have their deaths changed anything in their relationship?
